How to Participate

ONBH welcomes members of other hunt clubs as well as experienced riders who have not fox hunted.

If you are not a member of another hunt, you may join us if you are the guest of an ONBH member.  To insure maximum safety and your best first experience with us, the hunt member will get permission from the Masters and will ride with you during the hunt.

All guests must review and be thoroughly familiar with our hunt protocol, called the "Courtesies" prior to joining us for the meet. (Click here to download or print the Hunt Courtesies.)

Guests must sign a waiver and pay a capping fee. Capping is a way for prospective hunt members to get to know ONBH and foxhunting. The capping fee is $50 for guests on Saturdays and holidays and $40 for guests on Tuesdays. Juniors (under 18) pay no capping fees.  The capping fees should be paid by check (payable to "ONBH") and the check given to the Field Secretary at the meet.

Guests are invited to attend the "tea" (really a full buffet luncheon) following hunts on Saturdays and holidays and our informal "tailgate" refreshments on Tuesdays.
