About Drag Hunting

In Drag Hunting, hounds follow a scent placed by a human, rather than pursue a live quarry. The scent is placed over a pre-deterrnined route to take advantage of the best opportunities for viewing hounds and jumping objstacles, while avoiding roads and unauthorized crossing of private property.

The people who place the scent (or "lay the drag" in fox hunters' jargon) are affectionately referred to as "foxes."
